The Preparation
College students with the best leadership mindsets and the determination to make a change in a community will be selected through a rigorous application process. An equal number of students will be selected from Ghana and the Western Nations (United States, Canada and the United Kingdom) respectively. Each participant will become a part of our new initiative, the iSA Network, where relationships can be maintained and interactions can be sustained.
The JourneyThe RC Project lasts for two weeks where the participants will take part in iSA’s Xpect Leadership Camp, the Lighted Pathway to Success Program as well as the Reach Community Project.
The Xpect Leadership Program marks the start of the RC Student Project. Students will serve as team coaches for the Xpect Leadership participants during the two day event. Team coaches play a vital role in helping the Xpect Leadership participants understand and process the information set before them.
The RC team will visit all villages and towns under the Lighted Pathway to Success Program and interact with the local residents to evaluate the current Solar Powered Lights distribution system and come up with ways to enhance it for greater efficiency.
The Impact
The RC project presents the participants with the opportunity to start a new or select an existing iSA project that will maximize the utilization of all resources for the greatest output.
The project would entail creating a development plan and budget required for the implementation of the project. The participants will work in groups as well as have the iStandAbove Team provide the necessary guidance for completion of the project. Once the project is complete, the teams along with the iSA Team will present to donor companies and/or government agencies for evaluation and sponsorship of the project.
Involvement in The Reach Community Project will provide the exchange students with numerous valuable experiences. Amidst immersion into an international culture and learning a new way of life, the students will gain necessary knowledge and practice leadership development, consulting, networking, and community service; all key ingredients in the pursuit of becoming a great leader in society.![]()
