Why iStandAbove:
iStandAbove because I feel it is an ideal way of life. I feel that being open minded and being receptive to new ways of doing things will always propel you to the next level. When society follows the norm, and YOU look for ways to excel, you take yourself to that next level. I believe there are two kinds of people, those who see an issue and only see the problem versus those who see and issue and seek the solution. One part of achieving that next level is beginning to view the potential solution as opposed to the problem.  When you surround yourself with the right people and resources, you can always excel in every aspect of life and I feel that most people who decide not to stand above only do so to make someone else comfortable and fit into someone else’s mold and way of life. Instead of doing that they should meet halfway and partner with the other individual to get to the next way of life. With each other as resources to make one another the best version of themselves they can possibly be.

iStandAbove because I’ve been given a great opportunity to help impact lives. I’ve been taught to be generous and to help others. iStandAbove because I find a enjoy in giving back to my community especially to those who need it the most. I am currently a mentor with the Chosen to Achieve Program for African American middle school children and also a volunteer with the Jeremiah Program that assists single mothers and their children to break the cycle of poverty. I have been placed in a position to help, and I work to do just that.

iStandAbove because I want to help others face and battle various situations that come their way. Why iStandAbove:
Everyone has a certain goal in life but sometimes it takes a lot more than just that person to get there. iStandAbove because this amongst other ways, will help me reach out to these people especially children in various ways. Listening and trying to put yourself in their situation it the first step in reaching out to them. In several ways i try to make them look up to me positively so that i can help them. I try to figure out ways through critical thinking and reasoning to come up with solutions for these problems. Again, iStandAbove because i practically like to help people. I challenge myself by doing things i believe my peers cannot do.I have been working with autistic children for nearly three years. It has been one of my major challenges but as i set myself to go through it , i do exactly that every time i am working with these kids. With other colleagues from the center, we try to bring out ideas to help the children in various ways, that is to say i have an excellent team (teamwork) . I believe we can all help one another in several ways but it begins when u realize your potential and try to StandAbove all odds.
